Smith led race two but Hall carved his way up from the rear of the grid and was in touch until the symphonic-sounding Matra sprung a water leak and was parked a lap from home. Smith made amends for his kerb-clipping defeat at Monaco by securing the aggregate win. Mike Wrigley took an excellent second (from 10th on the grid) having dialled out Saturday's understeer.

Welcome racer Robs Lamplough (BRM P180) took a fifth and a fourth, Allan Rennie's Lotus 35 Martin had a good run to take sixth on aggregate ahead of Turkish visitor Cengiz Artam (March 701).
